On February 3, 2007 Colorado was hit by a winter storm. A slow moving low pressure system brought warm, moist Gulf air north, where it encountered a cold front and developed into heavy precipitation. Snowfall in the Denver metropolitan area exceeded 1" per hour and deposited two to three feet of snow across the metropolitan area.
Due to accumulating snow, trees and roofs started to give 24 hours into the storm. Emergency response personnel were stretched thin and CERT was activated to assist in the emergency. This is only a drill. |
