On May 15, 2010 a storm front formed over the western metropolitan area, spawning funnel clouds. A tornado touched down in the Southglenn area, leaving a path of devastation through the neighborhood. The path of the tornado passed over Ames Elementary School where Saturday morning community activities were in progress.

Due to the amount of damage, most roads in the area are impassable and public safety personnel and heavy equipment are not expected on the scene for several hours. Local CERT and ARES have been activated to respond.

This is only a drill.
